FramePicks

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 7, 2026

FramePicks is currently in controlled beta. This Privacy Policy may be updated before public launch.

1. Introduction

FramePicks is a private photo proofing app for photographers and their clients. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle information when you use FramePicks — whether you are a photographer with an account or a client accessing a proof gallery.

2. Information We Collect

A. Photographer account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (hashed by our authentication provider), name, business name, and account settings. We also track whether your account has been approved as an authorized creator.

B. Project and gallery information

When you create a project, we store the project title, client name, client email (if provided), gallery settings, selection limits, watermark preferences, client messages, project status, and timestamps.

C. Uploaded content

We store proof images you upload, which are browser-compressed to 2000 px before upload. Original filenames are preserved for Lightroom export matching. Images may include watermarks you configure. We do not strip image metadata unless the browser compression process removes it.

D. Client and gallery interaction data

When clients use a proof gallery, we store their selected favorites, optional notes and comments, finalized status, and timestamps of gallery activity.

E. Technical and usage data

We and our service providers may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, logs, and error data as part of normal service operation. We also use limited analytics as described in Section 6.

3. How We Use Information

FramePicks uses information to:

  • Create and manage photographer accounts
  • Host and serve proof galleries
  • Store and display proof images
  • Allow clients to select favorites and leave comments
  • Generate Lightroom-ready export strings
  • Provide authentication and account security
  • Troubleshoot bugs and improve the service during beta
  • Prevent abuse and detect unauthorized access
  • Respond to support, privacy, and takedown requests

4. Uploaded Images and Client Content

Photographers choose which images to upload. Uploaded images are used to provide proof galleries and are stored on our infrastructure. FramePicks does not claim ownership of uploaded images.

Gallery viewers may access images through private gallery links shared by the photographer. Photographers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to upload and share the images they use through FramePicks.

5. Sharing of Information

We share information with service providers who help us operate FramePicks:

  • Supabase — database storage, file storage, and authentication
  • Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery
  • PostHog — limited usage analytics (see Section 6)

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FramePicks, its users, or the public.

FramePicks does not sell uploaded photos. FramePicks does not sell personal information. FramePicks does not use photographer images for marketing without explicit permission.

6. Analytics and Cookies

FramePicks uses PostHog for limited usage analytics to understand how the app is used, troubleshoot issues, and improve beta functionality. Analytics may collect:

  • Device and browser type
  • Pages visited and actions taken (e.g. project created, gallery opened)
  • Approximate location from IP address
  • Timestamps and session counts

Analytics does not capture image contents, client comments, filenames, client names, emails, or private gallery identifiers. Automatic event capture and session recording are disabled.

FramePicks may use cookies or local storage as part of normal application function (e.g. authentication sessions). We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Note: If FramePicks expands to serve users in the EU, UK, or other jurisdictions with strict cookie and analytics consent requirements, additional review and possible implementation of a consent mechanism will be required before public launch.

7. Data Retention

Account and project data is retained while your account and projects are active. Photographers may delete projects or request account deletion by contacting us.

Deleted data may persist temporarily in backups, logs, or provider systems. Beta data may be removed during testing, maintenance, or account cleanup. FramePicks is not intended as permanent image storage.

8. Data Security

FramePicks uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect account, project, gallery, and uploaded content data. This includes row-level access controls, authenticated-only dashboard access, and HTTPS-encrypted data transmission.

No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure. Photographers should use careful sharing practices with gallery links. If you suspect unauthorized access or a security issue, contact us at support@framepicks.com.

9. Your Choices and Requests

You may contact us at support@framepicks.com to:

  • Access information we hold about you
  • Correct your account information
  • Request deletion of your account or data
  • Ask privacy questions

10. Children and Minors

FramePicks is not directed to children and is intended for adult photographers and professional users. Photographers are responsible for obtaining any required consents before uploading images of minors. Clients or guardians who believe images were uploaded without authorization should contact the photographer or reach us at support@framepicks.com.

11. International Users

FramePicks is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the U.S. or by service providers in other locations. If FramePicks later targets users in the EU, UK, or other international jurisdictions, additional privacy and legal review will be required.

12. U.S. State Privacy Laws

If you are a California resident or resident of another U.S. state with applicable privacy rights, you may contact us with privacy requests at support@framepicks.com.

Note: Full CCPA/CPRA and state privacy law compliance review is recommended before FramePicks scales beyond controlled beta or expands to broader markets.

13. Changes to This Policy

FramePicks may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of FramePicks after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
